Songwriting Lessons

These sessions are ideal if you want to become a stronger songwriter over time and gain my perspective on the many ways we can turn ideas into fully fledged songs. They can go hand in hand as part of my guitar lessons if you are interested in both learning the guitar and improving as a songwriter.

Together we can explore:

  • Chord progressions and harmony

  • Melody writing

  • Lyric development

  • Song Structure and arrangement

  • Hooks and Memorable choruses

  • Creative instrumental parts

  • Writing in different genres

  • Approaches to writing and feeling “stuck” on unfinished work

You’ll leave every session with practical tools that you can use in every song you write.

Songwriting Lessons and collaboration

Whether you’ve written dozens of songs or you’ve only got a voice memo humming into your phone, I can help you turn that spark into something you’re proud of.

As an active songwriter and performer, I’ve spent years writing music for original projects, collaborating with other musicians, and developing ideas from rough sketches into finished pieces. My goal isn’t to write for you - it’s to help you discover your own voice and create music that feels authentic to you, to help bring the magic out of your ideas.

Co-writing and Creative collaboration

I work with artists, songwriters, and bands who want to develop original music through professional co-writing sessions. Whether you’re building ideas from scratch or polishing a nearly finished track, I can help shape melodies, chord progressions, arrangements, instrumental parts, and overall song structure while staying true to your artistic vision.

My songwriting has centred around being the lead writer for my band “Death By Denim”, with songs such as “Cigarettes and Honey” and “Wiggy” amassing millions of streams and regular Triple J airplay. I have also collaborated with other artists such as Paige Valentine to bring ideas into completion both in writing and recording.

To me every song has a “soul” that needs to be revealed, almost like a puzzle. There is nothing like working it out and seeing the magic come to life.

Sessions can focus on:

  • Co-writing original material

  • Melody and hook development

  • Chord progressions and harmonic ideas

  • song structure and arrangement

  • Lyric writing

  • Production ideas

  • Rhythm and tempo

  • Creative feedback and song refinement

  • Preparing music for recording or live performances

Whether you’re an emerging artist or an established songwriter looking for a fresh perspective, my goal is to bring out the strongest version of your music - not replace your creative voice.

For Beginners and Experienced Writers

You don’t need years of musical training to write meaningful songs. Some clients arrive with nothing more than a lyric or melody idea, while others are experienced musicians looking for fresh inspiration.

Every session is tailored to your goals and experience level!
